A template is a model that is used to organise and manage the appearance and content of pages. A template uses a library of personalised labels to describe the graphic design of the page. The template is used to define the appearance of the different pages of a web application, without having to specify the content of the pages.

The content is inserted in the template during execution. One or more pages can use the same template to ensure uniformity of the presentation.

The template editor application is used to create page templates and to specify the layout of the different zones that can be modified for each model, preventing modification of the rest of the page.
